Leadership pipeline with Raj Gupta
There’s been lots of talk recently about ‘The Leadership Pipeline’ but what exactly is it and how can the senior church leader make the most of this new pastoral practice.
The leadership pipeline is a super helpful tool to think about leadership development, for yourself as a senior church leader, but also for others.
It gives us a framework for understanding how leaders must change what they do. It’s not just doing more by ‘adding steroids’ but by doing things differently, particularly developing different skills and differently allocating time. .
Senior MInister of Toongabbie Anglican Church Raj Guptahas been developing a training program for senior ministers of churches built around the leadership pipeline.
What is it? Is it just moving everyone up to a next step in responsibility or something more?
Where has it come from?
How does the principle apply to ministry work (especially from the perspective of the senior leader)?
Why can it be profound for leaders to implement?
What grief can be involved as you step ‘up’ the leadership pipeline?
How should a senior minister think about it?
Plus it involves a significantly different use of time. But how?
What differences has it made to Toongabbie Church?
How might you start to roll it out in your context?
